Experience in the change management trenches has taught me that there are 4 essential must-have ingredients for organisational change success.  And that without these 4 ingredients in place, well... you’re screwed.

(Spoiler: The 3rd one is the one everyone forgets.  The 4th is the one that can suddenly, out of the blue and at the very worst time, cause the most pain and bring everything to a screeching halt.)

The 4 ingredients aren’t part of a change methodology or typical list of what qualities to look for in a change manager.

Instead, this is my personal take on what - pragmatically - makes organisational transformation likely to be more successful.

No matter what type of organisational change you’re hoping to bring to life, without these 4 bad boys, you just won’t get anywhere.  You’ll have nothing but pain, spinning wheels, and frustration.

That’s why, on today’s ep of The New Way podcast, I’m spilling the beans on the 4 essential ingredients that you must have if you’re serious about organisational change success.

Listen in to discover:

  • The 2 diagnostics I use to design change teams

  • How to capture and track your most impactful people analytics

  • The must-do action for you to take this week to prepare for when the shit hits the fan

Take a listen now.  Experience tells me that when you rock the 4 elements I’m sharing together, the success of the change program becomes inevitable.

TOPICS DISCUSSED AND WHERE TO FIND THEM:

[2:25]: The first essential ingredient is strategy. A plan of action to achieve a long term goal. One big overarching strategy, and then a series of action plans to deliver it.

[4:03]: The second essential ingredient is talent. Ensure you have the right change management talent team in place.

[5:10]: I suggest using diagnostics like The Clifton Strengths Finder Diagnostic to identify strengths and then use those results to guide the team fit.

[6:35]: If you have a strong sense of personal responsibility, empathy, a human-focused approach, can read a room, and are genuinely interested in what you do, contact me on LinkedIn today because I have a job for you!

[7:09]: The third essential ingredient is people analytics. The most successful change initiatives have clear, easy ways to measure progress against clear objectives and desired outcomes.

[10:16]: The fourth essential ingredient is access to decision-makers and speedy internal clearance processes. Responsiveness and flexibility are critical.

[12:43]: Recap of the ingredients.

[13:10]: Drop me a note at LinkedIn to let me know if these are the ingredients you were expecting.
